Quidtum Project_Boullée1
The Quidtum Project, developed by the Italian architect Raffaella Ciani, proposes the construction of worlds inspired by the architectures of Étienne-Louis Boullée and Giovanni Battista Piranesi - the realization in the metaverse of their projects, of their dreams, impossible to build in the real world. These monumental and elite places are destined to accommodate cultural events of various kinds, providing a suggestive scenario animated by lights and shadows, typical of Boullée's "talking architecture", or grandiloquent representations of power (the Roman Empire) as regards to Giovanni Battista Piranesi. "Boullée 1" is the first project in the collection and is inspired by Boullée's design for the Salon of the National Library, which repurposes Raphael's vision of The School of Athens. The space starts from the idea of this visionary architect and is amplified through the use of a mirror that, doubling its proportions visually, makes it a space of imperial ascendancy. The project presents a full-height central space covered with a coffered barrel vault , a trabeated Ionic colonnade, a stage, four levels of galleries and an additional full-height space located under the apsidal basin. "Boullée 1" is a suitable setting for hosting different types of high profile events: concerts, exhibitions, conventions, political and institutional events, etc.
